Enchanted Home in Portsmouth!

It’s been a month since I posted last - about how things weren’t really where I wanted them to be. There’s this excruciating waiting period that needs to happen between the moment you realize things aren’t jiving and the epiphany that moves you forward. Getting better at embracing this in-between is something I’ve been working on the past year or so… it really doesn’t come easily. But, I have learned to trust in my intuition. I know that when the time is right, I’ll know exactly what to do.

That time has finally come for me! After spending the Thanksgiving holiday in Portsmouth, New Hampshire with my dad and his lovely fiancé, things have really come into perspective. I recognized the familiar tingling of change, the pull of untapped energy and the birth of an idea.Walking along the brick sidewalks of Portsmouth, marveling at the incredible historic homes, I had a vision in my mind’s eye. I saw myself, travel bag filled with supplies (notebook, MacBook, measuring tapes, and a snack), on my way to a client meeting. And it just hit me: I need to be here.

It’s been a long term goal of mine to expand my business to New England. Let’s be real - it’s my home. It always will be. I’ve considered that designers belong in the city, but I couldn’t ever picture myself trying to infiltrate the tense and fast-paced Manhattan market. So from now on, Enchanted Home will be based in both Bergen County and Portsmouth. (Thanks dad and Patti for offering me a space to work and crash when needed! It wouldn’t be possible without you.)

To anyone in the area, be on the lookout for some targeted ads and mailed flyers! I’ll be offering a free Zoom consultation for anyone interested in my services. I am so excited to explore this new path. For my New Jersey clients, my home base is still in Bergen County! This may come with some new challenges, but I have a feeling it’s going to bring a lot of great things.

Until next time,

Nicki
