Summer Mood Board
Hi friends! I’ve spent so much time writing lately that I felt like it was time for a visual post. I originally wanted to put together some summer picks (which I’ll still do!) but I came across this sofa that inspired the hell out of me and decided to create a mood board instead. Brown is really coming back, and considering it’s my second favorite color I’m damn excited about it.
This compilation features ultra textured lighting, which can find a home anywhere from coastal beach towns to European villages. Adding a bit of textured lighting to your home creates a sense of casual elevation - it’s super hip and should age really well. I’m all about white curtains in the summer, and these silk babies from CB2 will billow like nothing you’ve ever seen before.
I’ve also sourced some checkered marble flooring, this gorgeous table lamp, and some bulbous accent seating that responds to the curvature of this epic vintage sofa. The rustic, extra long coffee table is serving up chill vibes, and the console table is simple in form but big in personality. No normal legs here.
I didn’t choose a paint color, but I think I would either go for a muted earth tone or beige off white. Considering the amount of white elsewhere in the scene, the muted tones might be the right ticket.
Considering that 99% of the population probably wouldn’t spend $26,000 on this vintage sofa, I think it could be a cool idea to create a budget version of this design too! Sometimes it can be really illuminating to see high price items vs. low price items. Sometimes you can’t tell the difference… but sometimes you really can. Stay tuned!
Until next time,
Nicki
